Garage Door Marketing and SEO in Metro Detroit
Garage door marketing has two jobs: catch the urgent repair call fast and win the homeowner shopping for a new door. LJB did both for Proper Garage Doors with a rebrand, a rebuilt website and local SEO, helping a small crew grow into a company taking jobs across the region.

Our Garage Door Work
Proper Garage Doors: From Small Crew to Regional Company
Proper came to us as a small operation competing with dozens of similar-looking companies. The work went well past a new coat of paint on the website. The company rebranded, we rebuilt the site, and we built SEO around the services and communities it actually wanted to serve.
Organic search traffic grew from about 100 local visitors a month to about 500, and the number of keywords Proper ranks for grew more than 300%. What began as a small crew now takes jobs across the region. More telling is how leads arrive: increasingly pre-sold, from homeowners who have already seen the reviews, the trucks and the installs and are calling to book. Mid Michigan Garage Doors: Organic Traffic Doubled
We built Mid Michigan Garage Doors a website designed for search from the ground up, and it has doubled the company's organic search traffic.
How Proper Garage Doors Grew
- Rebrand: a new identity that set Proper apart from look-alike competitors.
- New website: rebuilt around the services and communities Proper wanted more of.
- SEO: ongoing work on those same services and towns.
- Growth: a small crew became a company taking jobs across the region.
- Results: five times the organic traffic, more than triple the organic keywords, and more leads arriving ready to buy.
Repair Pages and New-Door Pages Should Be Separate
Someone with a door stuck halfway open wants speed, availability and reassurance. Someone planning a new door wants styles, materials, insulation ratings, financing and photos of finished installs. Push both through one page and neither gets what they came for.
We build the two paths separately:
- Repair page (for example /garage-door-repair/): broken springs, opener failures, off-track doors, same-day availability, a tap-to-call button above the fold and a short "what happens when you call" section.
- New door page (for example /new-garage-doors/): door styles, materials, a gallery of local installs, warranty details, financing and a quote request form.
Each page gets its own Google Ads ad group and its own search terms, so the budget for a spring repair never pays for clicks from someone browsing carriage-house doors.
The Website Pre-Sells Trust Before the Phone Rings
Reviews, real installations, branded trucks, warranties and a plain explanation of the process remove objections early. When those are visible, the sales call starts further along. The homeowner isn't asking "Are you legitimate?" They're asking about schedule, options and price.
A Brand People Remember in a Crowded Trade
Many garage door companies advertise the same services with the same stock photos. A recognizable name, a consistent look on trucks and uniforms, and a clear point of difference make the company easier to remember when the homeowner comes back to the results a week later. That matters most when several competitors have similar review counts.
For local search, Google's rules for representing your business cover business names, categories and service areas. A rebrand has to follow them, or the listing can be suspended. For town pages, we follow the rule on our home service marketing hub: build them only where you have real work and something local to say.
Garage Door Marketing Services

Branding and Websites
We handle a rebuilt site and brand together, so the trucks, the listing and the website tell the same story.
Local SEO
Garage door SEO and Google Business Profile work covers categories, photos, reviews, service pages and selective town pages.
Paid Search
Separate repair and new-door campaigns, each with its own landing page and call tracking.
Areas We Serve
Our garage door clients cover Metro Detroit and parts of mid-Michigan, and the town pages we build for them follow where the trucks actually go: Sterling Heights, Warren and Mt. Clemens on the Macomb side, for example. See local SEO in Sterling Heights for how that works on the ground. Heating and cooling shows many of the same urgent-versus-planned patterns: HVAC companies face the same urgency split.
Garage Door Marketing FAQs
Should a garage door company have separate pages for repairs and new doors?
Usually, yes. The urgency, questions and proof are different. Repair customers need speed and service clarity, while new-door shoppers want visuals, product detail and financing.
How important is Google Business Profile for garage door companies?
Very important for local searches, especially urgent repairs. Categories, service areas, reviews, photos and the linked website should all describe the same services.
Do city pages help garage door SEO?
They can, when the company really serves the town and the page adds something local. A stack of nearly identical city pages is not a substitute for strong service content.
Is a rebrand worth it for a garage door company?
When the current name and look blend into every competitor, often yes. A rebrand has to be planned with your Google Business Profile, reviews and existing search rankings in mind so you don't lose visibility during the switch.
What makes a garage door lead feel pre-sold?
The homeowner has already seen enough reviews, local installs and brand consistency to believe you're the right company. The call becomes about scheduling and the specific door.
